BMC- Behavior Management Center
BMC is a restrictive setting for students who require consistent monitoring, supervision and structure. Some students have classroom instruction for core academics in BMC instead of the regular classroom setting.
The BASE program is a proactive intervention strategy for special education students experiencing emotional/behavioral difficulties. These students will have access to trained staff for support and assistance. BASEprovides students with the following:
· a safe environment to process emotional issues
· problem solving instruction
· social skills instruction
The BASEprogram should not be interpreted or looked upon as a Behavior Mastery Center (BMC). They are two separate programs on the continuum of Services. BMC is a more restrictive setting for students who require consistent monitoring, supervision and structure. The BASEprogram is a short term, intermittent strategy that provides a safe environment to process emotional/behavioral concerns.
