Music at Aue!
Welcome to the 2014-15 School Year
Where we are reaching higher every day!
All ABOUT MUSIC AT AUE
Each Gator classroom comes to the music room on a rotating schedule.
Sadly, I can't see every class every day!
To find out what day and time your child attends music your will need to know
1. What is the campus rotation day (e.g. Day 5) Your child's homeroom teacher will always know this and usually includes it in their weekly newsletters home.
2. Next you need to know what Special Class they go to on that rotation day. It will be one of the following, Music, Art, Computers, or PE. Click on the link to the right that says MUSIC ROTATION SCHEDULE and you will see what day your child attends Music by their classroom teacher. (Note: Some grade levels have 7 classes, so one class will be split to attend with another class in the same grade level)
ALL ABOUT ME:
My name is Pamela McDaniel and I'm the music specialists at our wonderful school. I am married and I have 4 grown children who attended Locke Hill Elementary, Hobby Middle School and Clark High School!
I earned a Bachelor of Music Education All Level from Abilene Christian University and obtained my initial Texas Teacher Certification in Music K-12.
Later I attended classes at UTSA and passed all the essential exams to add Certification for Comprehensive Elementary Grades 1-6 and Early Childhood (Pre-K and K) classrooms. In fact... I first started working in Northside ISD as a Kindergarten classroom teacher!
I love to learn and have earned post graduate Certifications or Endorsements in Orff, Kodaly, World Music Drumming, First Steps in Music, and Conversational Solfege.
I earned Levels I, II, and III in the Orff-Schulwerk music process from Trinity University here in San Antonio. I also completed a Masters Level course in Orff-Schulwerk at Southern Methodist University in Dallas. Certification was granted to me from American Orff Schulwerk Association (AOSA).
I have also completed and earned the Organization Of American Kodaly Educators (OAKE) Certification. I earned Kodaly Level I from Texas State University in San Marcos and completed Levels II & III at the Kodaly Institute of Texas when it was at North Texas. (It is now being offered at SMU).
Through the help of NISD, I've also completed Levels 1 & 2 of World Music Drumming.
I also have completed additional training with John Feierabend using Conversational Solfege, First Steps in Music and Music for Preschool at SMU in Dallas.
Through all these endorsements and training I'm able to offer differnt methods to teach music and use a variety of processes in my music classroom. My goal is to have an engaging classroom where every student feels wanted and special!
I have a strong passion for learning and an even stronger passion for teaching children. I want all the children I teach to have quality music instruction in their lives and hope that your child will love coming to music at Aue!
