Advance on the Reading Railroad

Monopoly style reading mustangs bulletin board at Nichols Library

Participate in the Reading Mustangs Program. Collect Dog Tags and Spirit Sticks as you advance on the Reading Railroad. Students who travel half-way there in December will go to the Midpoint Celebration Station! Enjoy a special guest performance in January. You won't want to miss it! Students who make it to the end of the line will receive a certificate of completion and will be invited to attend the Popsicle and extra recess party!

Library Volunteers

We need your help to provide the level of service that our students deserve.  Please volunteer as a PAL in your Nichols Elemenary Library.

Help is needed for:

1. Regular library circulation: one day a week is extremely helpful. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday are when our students have scheduled library time. If you can bend and lift, if you alphabetical order and number order out to three decimal points, then we can use your help. The more the merrier!

2. Presenting careers, hobbies, information that is fun and interesting for our students that will help them find a good reason to learn.  Careers are a strong motivation to learn and succeed!  Share what you do and how you got there!

4. Readers! We need readers!  If you can read a book to a child during their lunch time, then we need you!  Find out how you can become a mentor to a student.

Call Mrs. Rush at 397-4084 or e-mail at elizabeth.rush@nisd.net for more details.

Access e-books online from anywhere and make use of the built-in dictionary and integrated search tools. Or download and view eBooks offline, which reserves the eBook for a set circulation period, and allows use of the search, highlighting, note-taking and copy/paste/print features as permitted by the publisher.
