Ms. Ellison, Art

Welcome! My name is Myrna Ellison and I am the Art Specialist at Evers Elementary.  I love finding new ways of helping children learn. This has stemmed from my own learning experiences and the understanding that I need varied methods of instruction.

I received my bachelor’s degree in Art, with a minor in education, from Avila College in Kansas City , MO. I am certified to teach art for K-12th grade children. I moved to Texas and received classroom certification from UTSA.  This provided me with the opportunity to teach six years in a 2nd grade classroom at Timberwilde Elementary, here in NISD. In 2003 I received my Master's Degree in Education with a specialization in Instructional Technology.

When NISD began the art position at Timberwilde, I switched over to my favorite teaching assignment: art. After 5 years I moved to Evers Elementary when it opened in 1992.   box of crayons
