Our art classes meet once every 6 rotation days. We experiment with a variety of materials. We take risks and think like scientists while exploring the world around us with our art materials.
I began my interest in art education as a visiting artist who worked with schools all over San Antonio. I have taught art for 18 years. My Bachelors degree is in Fine Arts with a specialty in painting. My Masters degree is in Bicultural/bilingual Studies. I feel like Colonies North, with its mulicultural student body, is just the right place for me.
This year in art we will be using our hands and our creative minds to invent all kinds of new ideas. We'll be using clay, markers, fabric, colored pencils, and lots of other materials.
We love to work with recycled materials like fabric scraps, buttons, wood scraps, toilet paper rolls, etc., so if you have any of those items around the house that you want to get rid of, send them over any time!
We will enter a few art competitions and display our best work whenever and wherever we can. Our Colonies North Cougars are a great group of artists!
