Special Education Department

Our department staff believe in working collaboratively with our students, their parents, and the general education teachers to guide students in developing functional life skills, develop goal setting abilities, and establish self advocacy skills along with teaching the academic content that will prepare students for high school and ultimately in becoming a successful life-long learner.

It is not what you do for your children, but what you have taught them to do to for themselves, that will make them successful human beings.      By Ann Landers

  • A continuum of services is provided on our campus to meet the individual needs of our students.  We provide life skills, collaborative classrooms, specialized instruction classes for academic content areas as well as for behavior.
  • All students who receive special education services are assigned a case manager who will be responsible for monitoring your child's academic progress throughout the school year as well as other specific individual student needs that are written into your child individual education plan (IEP).
  • Your student’s case manager is the first point of contact should you have any questions or concerns.  Hopefully you have received a call from them already for them to have introduced themselves and to have provided you with their contact information.

You are encouraged to call our department anytime you have a question or a concern.  We look forward to working with you and your child this school year.

We will be hosting some parent events this year for our special education parent population... please check back for any upcoming events throughout the year!
