Mission Statement

RMS Mission:  We Believe that all students can learn.  We Believe educators are essential to student success.  We Believe effective communication and collaboration is necessary to create a positive learning environment.  We Believe in a challenging learner-centered environment.

SUPPLIES:   Every day each student should bring, paper, pencil, sketch book and the school planner to class.  Arts Kits are recommended and will be helpful for art class. Art Kits can be purchased from the Art Department. All other materials will be supplied!

Each student will learn about all the elements and principles of art through various mediums and techniques. Students will start by creating their own Altered Text Book!  This book will consist of using an out dated math or science text book which has been approved for art use by the Principal! Students will paint, draw and recreate the elements and principles in their own way throughout this year long altered book assignment. Throughout the year students will also get a chance to explore different styles of art from 3-D clay and papier mache sculpture, 2-D colored pencils, watercolor, acrylic paint, oil pastel, markers, crayon and crayon etchings, pencil, and different fabric and low relief projects as well!
