My name is Phillip Edge. I am the principal of Construction Careers Academy (CCA). It is an honor and privilege to serve the students, their parents, and the staff of CCA. Prior to coming to CCA I served as the Vice Principal at Connally Middle School. Before joining the Northside team I served as an Assistant Principal at Pearsall High School in Pearsall, TX and an Assistant Principal/Principal at Somerset High School, in Somerset TX. One of the highlights of my career is my time in the classroom. As a classroom teacher I taught business and technology. I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Southwest Texas State University (now Texas State) and a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Colorado in Colorado Springs. After returning to Texas from Colorado I attended the University of Texas in San Antonio and was awarded my Texas Principal’s Certification.
It is important to know that working with students is my lifelong passion. I have spent three decades of my life working with students. My goal is to ensure that the students of CCA receive a challenging, rigorous and enjoyable experience—to ensure they are prepared for college and/or a post high school career.
At the core of my educational philosophy is the P.A.C.E. philosophy. P.A.C.E. is an acronym that stands for Positive Attitudes Change Everything. It is my conviction that as educators we must create a positive and encouraging atmosphere where all students can learn and thrive. My commitment to the parents, students, and staff of CCA is to always give you my best, to encourage you, and to serve as a shinning example of integrity and a person of great character.
When I am not at school, I enjoy spending time with my wife, kids, and our six grandchildren. I also enjoy spending time in the great outdoors and “relaxing” on the back porch. Please know that my door is always open—do not hesitate to contact me for any reason. I am here to serve you!
