Fourth Six-weeks (January 21-February 28, 2014)
"I do not sing because I'm happy,
I'm happy because I sing."
Choir is a class at Luna! I get to see my students everyday. We learn about many different types of music, and we get to perform. We learn how to read music and how to perform with expression. We are not here simply to sing; we are here to become good musicians, good students, and good citizens!
I sing, therefore I am!
Choir Director: Jessica Koppe
I received my Bachelor of Music in Choral Education and my Master of Arts in Teaching from Trinity Univerity. This is my 5th year to work with the Luna team. At Luna we believe that ALL students can learn and we will do whatever it takes to offer you the tools you need. I believe choir is a tool for learning about life, and I am grateful everyday that I get to share music all of you!
According to T.E.A., secondary schools with higher student enrollment in fine arts programs have higher accountability ratings, higher standardized test scores (STAAR), higher attendence rates, higher graduation rates, and lower numbers of incident reports/discipline problems.
In choosing to become part of a music ensemble you have chosen to improve your life and gain useful skills for your future. You will work with a team, set goals in group and individual settings, learn to be accountable, listen better, gain confidence, perform in public, and become a better citizen and student. Congratulations on making this choice!
