Dear Hurricane Families,
It is with much excitement and enthusiasm that I write this letter as Hatchett Elementary’s Principal. I have had the honor to serve Northside as a teacher for the past few years and as an administrator for the last 10 years. I have grown to think of NISD as my home away from home.
I began my teaching career in the fall of 1990 as a third grade teacher with the North East School District. I did not start off with Northside, but I got here as fast as I could. I have taught for several years in first, second, third and fourth grade and I have also served as the Vice Principal for Hatchett for three years. I am extremely excited to be the Principal of the Best school in Northside!
Over the last few years, I have enjoyed working with some of the finest educators, students and parents in the Northside District. My respect and admiration for these people are truly limitless. Their dedication and commitment to doing what is best for the kids inspires me on a daily basis and serves as motivation for me to be my very best. In fact, I am extremely honored and humbled to be a part of the Hurricane family.
On a personal note, I am the proud mother of 3 boys who range in age from 13 to 17 years old. Both my husband and I are extremely active in our son's water polo team, football team, basketball teams and especially enjoy raising a pig with NISD. They keep us very busy and our evenings are usually filled with driving one or the other to and from games and practices. Someone once told me that I would miss all this craziness when they are out of the house. So, for right now, we will continue to enjoy the craziness.
I have called Hatchett my family for the past 10 years and I look forward to working with many more wonderful people. I love my job and I am truly blessed to work with educators who believe we do what is best for ALL children.
I look forward to serving the Hurricane community as its principal and collaborating with parents and staff to ensure the continued success of Hatchett Elementary and its students.
No Excuses. No Miracles. Just HARD work!
