Welcome!!!!!

Welcome to Hatchett Elementary.... The proud home of the Hatchett Hurricanes!

My name is Elizabeth Sitomer and I am one of the grade level specific Collaboration Teachers.

This is my fifth year here at Hatchett and I am so proud to be working with each of your children.  I have been teaching for 9 years.  Prior to becoming a collaboration teacher, I taught in a Self contained Unit (ALE or AU units).  I began teaching in San Antonio ISD, moved to Katy ISD located just outside of Houston and then moved back to San Antonio and joined the Hatchett family.  I am so proud to be working with each of your children.  I am so very excited to start this year off... I know it will be a "trip"!

As well as being a classroom teacher I have the honor of being the Special Education Campus Coordinator at Hatchett.

Some information about our classroom:

The ALE(Alternative Learning Environment)/ SI (Specialized Instruction) classroom is staffed by a teacher and 2 Instructional Assistants who are specially trained to assist in the classroom.  We follow the TEKS and NISD curriculum as well as functional academics and daily living skills.   This two fold approach allows us to create an individual academic plan for each student while still introducing them to the curriculum and topics their same age peers are exposed to in the general education setting.

In the classroom I am blessed with five wonderful co-workers.    Each of us brings our gifts from our outside backgrounds ranging from nursing to parenting to coaching this creates an environment that all students will achieve and succeed in.
