Designate a place in your home to practice. This place should be free from as many distractions as possible. Students may need a bit more encouragement and support from you to help them reach their goals. Students should be practicing at least 30 minutes per day.
And remember: "Practice only on the days you eat".
Being in the orchestra is a great way to grow in self confidence, learn to be a part of a team, and build long lasting friendships.
Mrs. Holmes has been the orchestra director here at Jordan since its opening in 1993.
She has been teaching Orchestra in the public school systems of Texas since 1981. Both of her children are a product of Northside Independent School District and continue to pursue music as an avocation and a profession. Go Northside!
