Jeanine Johnson, Music

A Little About Me

Welcome to the Music Room!

I am Jeanine Johnson and I am in my 18th year of teaching, 14 of which have been with NISD.  I completed a Masters Degree in Music Education and regularly attend Orff Music Education and TMEA (Texas Music Educators Association) workshops throughout the year.

The Carson Music Program:  Your child will get to experience music making once every six school days for a total of 27 lessons during the school year.  During our time together, we will sing, play percussion instruments, move creatively to music, learn organized folk dances, improvise rhythms and melodies, but most of all enjoy music.

Extracurricular Activities:  This year we will continue the Carson traditions of Choir and drum ensembles for 4th and 5th graders, and String lessons for 5th graders.  Please note all activities have changed day of the week from years past.

DRUMS:  7:00 a.m. on Wednesday mornings for 5th graders and Friday mornings for 4thgraders.

CHOIR:  all 4th and 5th grade students are invited to participate in the after school choir which will meet on Wednesdays from 3:00-4:30 p.m.

STRINGS:  An NISD program available to interested 5th grade students will meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays after school from 3:00-4:00 p.m.

Check back for more details and permission slips for these activities.
