Yeah! It’s that time again where parents are gearing their child to be ready for school. For some kiddos this may be their first year to attend school and for others they may have been in Pre-K and are ready to start a new year. This summer seemed to have flown by so fast. I was lucky enough to read several books between basketball and volleyball tournaments. I am looking forward to another successful year in kindergarten.

A Little About Myself:

I am originally from a little island called Guam (located in the Pacific Ocean between Japan and Hawaii). My parents and sister still reside there and I am very blessed when they are able to come out to San Antonio to visit. I graduated from the University of Guam with a BA in Elementary Education and was able to be commissioned as an army officer.  I was an Engineer Officer in the Army Reserves. I am officially out of the military, however, my heart and prayers are always there for all those who protect our country and freedom. I love anything that has to do with being with family and friends. I have been married for 21 years and we were blessed with four great kids. My oldest son is married and he and his wife are serving in the United States Air Force. My oldest daughter is attending Northwest Vista. And my two youngest kiddos are attending Marshall High School and are very active in sports, so needless to say, I am on the side lines cheering them on. “Go! Rams! Go!” My family and I moved to San Antonio in 2002, and I have been teaching at Boone since then. Boone has become my extended familyJ. I taught one year in 3rd grade and the rest has been in Kindergarten. I received my masters in Curriculum and Instruction focusing on Reading (2007). I consider myself a lifelong learner and would love to go back and get my doctorate degree. I absolutely love what I am doing and feel very blessed to be able to make a difference in so many lives.

I look forward in working with you and your child. I have a lot of fun and exciting things planned for the upcoming school year and I know your child will come home with lots to share. I encourage you to take the time to talk to your child about his/her special day in Kindergarten!

Kindergarten is a special time in your child's life and he/she will be experiencing many new things. This is a time for the students to shine in their own special way. One way to ensure that your child is successful in Kindergarten is for him/her to have good attendance. We will be moving at a rapid pace academically and school begins promptly at 7:35 a.m. If your child arrives after 7:45 a.m. they will be considered tardy. If your child arrives after 9 a.m., they will be counted absent for that day. I know that I can count on each one of you to have your child here on time and ready for the day!
