 Hello, and welcome to Mrs. Haney's web page! I am very excited about having your child in my class. I have taught for 27 years and have my Master's Degree in Elementary Education. This is my 16th year at Boone Elementary. Take a look at what we're doing in third grade!



Our Daily Schedule

  • 7:45 - 8:00      Announcements/Morning Work
  • 8:00 - 8:30      STAAR Time 
  • 8:30 - 9:00      Language Arts 
  • 9:00 - 9:30      Whole Group Reading
  • 9:30 -10:15      Guided Reading Groups
  • 10:15 - 11:00   Specials (Days 1,3,5 P.E; Day 2 Art; Day 4 Music; Day 6 Computer) 
  • 11:00 - 12:20   Math (Including class lesson and guided math groups)
  • 12:25 - 12:55   Lunch  
  • 12:55 - 1:15     Math Recursive Review 
  • 1:15 - 1:35      Recess
  • 1:40 - 2:30      Science/Social Studies
  • 2:30 - 2:45      Pack up/Dismissal   

**We go to the library every few days in small groups. Third graders may check out 2 books at a time.  When your child is ready to check out new books, please have him/her return the old ones. Encourage your student to read Accelerated Reader books! They may also join the Indian Paintbrush Book Club.

**If your child is going home a different way than the usual, please send me a note or call the school!

Take Home Folders and Academic Planners (assisgnment notebooks) for students are sent home daily and need to be signed and sent back to school daily.  Please check the appropriate pockets for homework and graded papers which need to be signed and returned to the teacher.  Remember the pockets are labeled for your convenience!
