Ms. Bofenkamp

Welcome

Hello, my name is Julie Bofenkamp.  This will be my twelfth year teaching and my eighth year here at Fisher.  During my years in education I have taught 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades.  I have also served as the Academic Support Teacher and science facilitator here at Fisher.

I grew up in northwest Iowa and graduated from the University of Northern Iowa (Go Panthers!) in 2000.  I came to San Antonio to student teach and have lived here ever since.  I am currently working towards my Master's Degree in Administration.

In my free time I like to play with my dogs Fisher and Marlie, read, cheer on the Iowa Hawkeye football team, watch movies, and spoil my nieces and nephew.

I feel that students, above all, should enjoy learning.  I try to provide a bright , attractive classroom where students feel safe, cared for, and most of all excited about learning.  I use a variety of materials to help motivate and enhance student interest.  I feel that time should never be wasted.  School is more meaningful, and behavior is better, when students are kept on task.  It is very important for students to try their best and take responsibility for their actions, work, and supplies.
