This years theme in ALPHA is....

Law and Order

Have you ever heard the saying "an eye for an eye"? If you have, or wonder what that means we will be traveling back in time and learn the laws of Hammurabi who came up with this way of justice. He had a very interesting perspective of what law and order should be.

We will also learn about King John. Was he really as cruel as people said he was?

Ever wonder what it was really like living in England during the Tudor time period? If you were wealthy it wasn't so bad!

As we look back at the laws and justice systems of the past, we cannot forget about our own court system. Are you guilty of a crime??? Be ready for some mock trials!!!!

So get your judges robes ready because it's going to be a great year!

My Story

I am originally from Long Island, New York. After graduating from High School I began to study education at Suffolk Community College. While in college I worked as a substitute teacher for a school district that specialized in the education of children with special needs.

Once, moving to Texas I continued my education at the University of Texas at San Antonio. I graduated with my Bachelors Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies. I am certified to teach general education 1st-5th grade and Special Education K-12th grade.

After teaching in the general education classroom for several years I was honored to be able to move into a Gifted and Talented position. I now serve as the Gifted and Talented Enrichment Specialist for Michael Elementary.

It is an amazing field to teach and I love being with my Gifted Students everyday!
