Michael Elementary-Home of the Stars
This years theme in ALPHA is....
Have you ever heard of the "Dead Zone" or the "Great Pacific Garbage Patch"? Have you ever wondered what lives in the Rainforest or how animals and plants can survive in the hot Desert sun or the brutal cold temperatures of the Tundra?
If you have, then this years unit for the 2014-2015 school year is just for you!
We will be taking a trip around the world studying the worlds Biomes. ALPHA students will be researching plant and animal adaptations, symbiotic relationships as well as how our Earths Biomes are being destroyed by pollution.
By the end of this school year you will feel empowered to make a difference in the world. It is going to be a GREAT year!
I am originally from Long Island, New York. After graduating from High School I began to study education at Suffolk Community College. While in college I worked as a substitute teacher for a school district that specialized in the education of children with special needs.
Once, moving to Texas I continued my education at the University of Texas at San Antonio. I graduated with my Bachelors Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies. I am certified to teach general education 1st-5th grade and Special Education K-12th grade.
After teaching in the general education classroom for several years I was honored to be able to move into a Gifted and Talented position. I now serve as the Gifted and Talented Enrichment Specialist for Michael Elementary.
It is an amazing field to teach and I love being with my Gifted Students everyday!
