I am starting my 19th year as a music teacher. I have an undergraduate degree in Jazz Studies from Indiana University (B.M.) and a graduate degree in education, Masters of Arts in Teaching, (M.A.T.) from Middle Tennessee State University. I started teaching in the fall of 1994. My work experience prior to elementary teaching included playing piano in several amusement park show bands, a graduate assistantship, working as a touring musician and society musician in Nashville, TN, and working as cruise ship musician on several vessels. I came toSan Antonioin January 1994 to be a pianist/conductor at FiestaTexas. I performed in several shows at FiestaTexas. I have been married since March of 2000.
I am originally from Fort Wayne Indiana. I have three sisters and one brother. They all live in the Indiana/Michigan area, so I don’t see them that much. My parents visit during the winter. We enjoy their company. I do miss the four seasons of northernIndiana. Being from Northern Indiana, I grew up playing ice hockey. Now I enjoy helping out coaching at the Northwoods Ice Arena. My hobby is Spanish. When I’m not busy with school related activities, I’m busy practicing the piano, electric bass, or double bass, or working on a recording project in my studio. When it is not a school or music project, there is always something else around the house to do or maintain. Spending time with my family though is the most important thing. For example, we have Ice Hockey at Northwoods Ice Arena and Cello at the UTSA String Project, twice a week with my son, and he is in his second year Scouting - He's a Bear Scout. I look forward to teaching your child. Please view my other documents on my web page that you find pertinent.
