|Howdy Exemplary Myers Eagles!! I feel honored and blessed to serve you as your Principal. I am in my fifteenth year in education. Prior to becoming your principal I served as a Vice Principal at three different Elementary Schools in Northside ISD for 6 1/2 years. My first three years as Vice Principal were at J.B. Passmore Elementary, from there I moved to Ed Cody Elementary and I served as their Vice Principal for two years, and the last year and a half I had the opportunity to open and serve as Vice Principal at Ralph Langley Elementary. Prior to being a Vice Principal, I was a Bilingual Kindergarten Teacher for 5 years. My first teaching experience was as a Bilingual Kindergarten teacher in Edinburg, Texas at L. B. J. Elementary. I then moved to San Antonio and taught Bilingual Kindergarten at J.B. Passmore Elementary for four years. I come from a rich history of educators going back two generations. My Grandmother was a Texas Public Elementary School Teacher for 45 years and my mother is also a teacher going on 35 years this year.
Every day I count my blessings because I have been given the opportunity to support such a diligent, caring group of educators, students and parents. I believe that our children are OUR FUTURE and it is up to us as a school to form a strong bond with you, our parents, so that we can support and provide every opportunity available to ensure that our children achieve success. I encourage you to get involved in your child’s lives as much as possible. I feel that the best gift that a parent can give their child or children is the gift of time, whether it is reading with them or helping them with their homework during the week, or taking them to the park on the weekends. It is equally important that you keep in touch with your child’s teacher. I invite you to also support Myers Elementary by becoming a member of our PTA. Membership is $6.00 per family and your dues help to support school initiatives such as field trips and student incentives. As an added incentive when you join PTA you will get a Myers School spirit shirt for free.
Just a little about myself, I was raised in Premont, Texas approximately 2 1/2 hours south of San Antonio on Highway 281. I recently got married in March of 2012. My husband and I look forward to having a child of our own one day. We have a 6 year old Chihuahua named Chile and a 3 year old Blue Heeler named Pepper who keep us company and love to travel with us. In our free time, we enjoy visiting our family and friends, dancing, and visiting our family ranch. I am the oldest of four, and also the only daughter, with three brothers, ages ranging from 33 to 16. My youngest brother is currently a Sophmore in High School.
I received my Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies from The University of Texas Pan-American in the Spring of 1999, and a Masters of Science degree in Educational Administration from Texas-A&M University-Kingsville in the Summer of 2003.
I have an open door policy, and I invite you to come by and discuss any issues you might have or make any suggestions that you feel will benefit the school.I look forward to a year filled with fun, exciting activities that will help to build strong school/home relationships.
Feel free to email me with any questions, comments or concerns.
