Mrs. Haley

Language Support Specialist

LPAC campus coordinator/ESL teacher

Welcome to my outreach page!  I am Letty Haley, the Language Support Teacher at Virginia Myers Elementary.  This is my 17th year as a teacher and have taught kinder, first, second and third grades.  I use both my bilingual and reading specialist degrees to provide supplemental support for our English Language Learners.   Most of my day is spent providing small group services to students that are struggling in Reading.  I am also the bilingual campus coordinator and my job is to make sure that our campus is in compliance with the laws that govern the bilingual program through our campus LPAC meetings which are held twice a month.   By law, we need to have a trained parent in our LPAC meetings, so if you are interested in being a part of our campus committee, please let me know.

Dr. Soto and I run our campus Sit Together and Read early literacy program.  This is a program for Pre-K and Kinder parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles that is held on Fridays in our Library.  The program offers practical reading and writing activities that parents can practice during S.T.A.R with their child.   It also provides a great bonding experience for both adults and children!
