The Attendance Office, under the supervision of the Director of Pupil Personnel, is charged with the responsibility of serving as a resource in the areas associated with student attendance and investigations of district residency. The Attendance Officers and Truancy Specialists enforce compulsory school attendance requirements by means of monitoring, evaluating and filing Truancy Cases, in accordance with the Compulsory Attendance Law, at Precinct 4, or Municipal Court. Additionally, the staff verifies district residency and assist in the leaver/drop-out recovery efforts by conducting home visits and utilizing other appropriate investigative resources.
As the Assistant Principal in charge of Attendance, Ms. Salazar is dedicated to ensuring that all students are in class every day.
Ms. Salazar received her Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice from Southwest Texas State University and a Master's Degree in Educational Leadership from The University of Texas at San Antonio. She started her career in Education in Austin, TX in 2004, before returning home to San Antonio in 2007, where she's been a proud raider since!
