Welcome to the Guidance and Counseling Department! We are available to assist you Monday-Friday during regular school hours (8:30-3:40).
The following information is needed in order to enroll your child:
current proof of residence
(Utility Bill-SAWS or CPS, Lease, Cable Bill-Time Warner)
up-to-date shot records
social security card
parent's driver's license
educational records from previous school (withdraw papers, standardized tests scores, special education paperwork).
Please contact Ms. McFarlan, the grade reporting secretary, at 397-7432 for more information. If you have questions concerning your child, please contact their assigned counselor.
Zachry Middle School has a standardized dress code!
Please stop by and visit the counseling department's Parent Involvement Center. If you need information about substance abuse, peer pressure, bullying, college material, etc., the Parent Involvement Center is the place to be. Some materials are available for checkout. So come on by and check it out!!!
What Do School Counselors Do?
*mental, emotional, social, developmental, and behavioral services to students and families
*academic guidance and support services, including organizational, study and test-taking skills for students
*special education services, including serving as integral member of the student's Individual Education Plan (IEP)
*career awareness, exploration and planning services, including goal setting and decision making assistance for students
*school crisis intervention and response services
*collaboration and coordination of more in-depth services needed through community agencies
