The Zachry World Travelers Club was established to encourage students to expand their cultural knowledge and eliminate common stereotypes, through an exploration of world cultures. Students will learn about music, dance, food, customs, religions, and cultures from around the globe.
Meeting times are from 3:45-5:00 pm on select Fridays, in Ms. Arora's classroom, B127.
About Your Organizer:
Welcome to Zachry Middle School's World Travelers Club! My name is Ms. Arora and I am this years club advisor and a 6th grade ELAR and 7th grade Reading Teacher. I love learning about different countries and cultures. I come from a diverse family background, with Romanian on my father's side and Irish and British on my mother's side. I studied German Languages and Literature at The Ohio State University, as well as Die-Rheinische-Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universitaet Bonn, in Bonn, Germany.
I have traveled frequently throughout the United States and have been to Mexico, Germany, India, and the Bahamas. I am fluent in English and German and have a elementary knowledge of Spanish, Russian, Hindi, and Punjabi.
I believe that the best way to truly relate and understand all people, is to understand their culture, beliefs, and customs. By understanding these things, it gives us a chance to "be in someone else's shoes," and therefore makes us more understanding and well-rounded individuals.
Please join us at the Zachry World Travelers Club. I would love to see you there! :)
